The first EU Aid Volunteer openings in the framework of our MdM Deployment Project are now out.
The MdM Deployment of EU Aid Volunteers project, led by Médicos del Mundo Spain in partnership with Médecins du Monde Belgium and Doctors of the World UK as Sending Organisations, and our non-EU partners from 10 countries (Sahara, Haiti, Palestine, Mozambique, Senegal, Bolivia, Guatemala, El Salvador, Democratic Republic of the Congo and Mali) is now launched!
WHAT ARE THE POSITIONS AVAILABLE?
WHAT DOES THE EU AID VOLUNTEERS INITIATIVE OFFER?
1-Opportunities for European citizens to become EU Aid Volunteers in humanitarian projects worldwide, showing solidarity with those who most need it.
2-Professional support by trained and well-prepared volunteers to communities affected by disaster.
3-Capacity building for local staff and volunteers of organisations in countries hit by disasters.
4-Technical assistance for organisations based in Europe to strengthen their capacity to participate in the EU Aid Volunteers initiative. Individuals can apply to be deployed to humanitarian projects worldwide.
WHAT DO I NEED TO BE A VOLUNTEER?
To be an EU Aid Volunteer you need to be an EU citizen or long-term resident of an EU Member State and you must be a minimum age of 18. Online volunteering will be open to volunteers of any nationality.
EU Aid Volunteers deployed to humanitarian aid projects will receive training, with accommodation and travel costs covered, and may have the possibility to undertake additional training at the HQ of one of our Sending Organisations (MdM Spain, MdM Belgium or MdM UK) before deployment.

From 16 – 30 March 2018
The pre-selected candidates will have a Skype interview with MdM Sending Organisation and our Non-EU partners.
Around 2 April 2018
The candidates interviewed will be informed on whether they are selected to participate in the pre-deployment training (online & classroom training organised by the European Commission).
May or June 2018
The pre-selected candidates will participate in the online and classroom pre-deployment trainings.
At the end of May / beginning of July 2018.
The final selection result will be announced in the aftermath of the EU pre-deployment trainings.
